Barbara Boland Born in Dublin in the 1950's, Barbara Boland came from a craft-orientated family. Her parents were successfully involved in the fashion industry while her brother specialised in jewellery manufacture and design. Married with three children, Barbara returned to art twelve years ago. Her passion for travel has widely influenced her work as she endeavours to capture the colour and atmosphere of these travels on canvas. She has developed a distinctive style with the use of a palette knife as it allows her the freedom to create figures, flowers, seascapes and landscapes. In November 2002, Barbara travelled to Asia, Australia and New Zealand experiencing new cultures, and providing inspiration for her present work. Barbara's unique style of work is very popular all over the world. Her paintings can be found amongst the private collections of the National Stud, the Foley Banking Group in Ohio, and the Great Southern Hotel Group, to name but a few. |
